ABOUT SUGARTOWN INDUSTRIES

Established in 2012 in Brooklyn, NY, Sugartown Industries is an award-winning, top-rated DJ service helmed by Colleen McHale (known professionally as DJ Colleen Crumbcake).

Growing up outside of DC, Colleen always made mixed tapes and CDs for her friends in high school. In college, she hosted two indie rock/pop shows and became the station's music director. After college, Colleen moved to Chicago, spun at hipster bars like Club Foot, The Hideout, and Danny's, and hosted a college radio show (NerdAlert!) at WLUW-FM at Loyola University.

In 2002, she moved to NYC and hosted Sandy Acres Sound Lab on East Village Radio for over eight years. Check out this SASL episode featuring LD Beghtol (RIP) of Flare, Moth Wranglers, Three Terrors, and Magnetic Fields fame posted on The Village Voice website. During the week, she worked closely with clients in TV production and started spinning at weddings and weekend events. She's worked with clients like West Elm, Madewell, J. Crew, Etsy, and the Renegade Craft Fair. In 2008, she left her 9-to-5 and began DJing professionally; she has never looked back.

Since then, she's spun at hundreds of weddings, corporate events, and private parties. In 2021, she returned to the Washington, D.C.- Baltimore Metropolitan area, which has increased the places she can now book gigs! â€‹

You can listen to some of her fun mixes on MixCloud. Here are some of her favorites:
